Our Service
Our Ministry
First and foremost, we (Donna and Mike) want to answer our calling to a marriage that, although less than perfect, is a sign that points to Christ living in this world. Just behind that is our calling as parents, as well as other aspects of family and extended-family life. We also want to be open to the needs of our friends, parishes and communities.
Numerous service and ministry opportunities present themselves through Donna’s work at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Ill. Some of the most notable include the annual “Youth Sing Praise” performance in June and “Youth Day” each fall.
For more information about such activities at the Shrine, please go to www.snowsyouthministry.org. It is a holy place, operated by the special Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. We hope you will find it special as well.
Mike wants to use his background as a writer in whatever opportunities God presents. We are hoping his book “Hence My Eyes Are Turned Toward You” can help erase some of the stigma attached to mental illness and give people affected by the disease a way to emerge healthier rather than burdened by guilt.
Donna and Mike have participated in many aspects of ministry at the parish level during the last 26 plus years, ranging from youth ministry to parish council, marriage preparation to Sunday school, vacation Bible school to coaching sports teams. Both of us now feel called to minister through leading retreats and days of recollection on a variety of topics. Contact us with your needs; we can try to develop something to meet them.
We also have a special place in our hearts for helping, in whatever way possible, those who struggle with clinical depression as well as those patients’ spouses, other family members and friends. If you want individual questions answered on a one-to-one basis, or if you are looking for speakers for your group, contact us with those needs as well in the “Contact Us” section of our website.
